HOW IS IT DONE?
Microblading is performed by manually depositing pigment into the upper levels of the dermis using a hand tool (microblade) to create the hair stroke aparience.
CAN ANYONE HAVE THE MICROBLADING OR SPMU TREATMENT?
You need to be over 18 at the time of the appointment, you are unable to have the treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, some medical conditions can prevent you to have the treatment as well (we always advise to contact us to discuss it).
A patch test is required at least 24 hrs before the treatment.
DOES THE TREATMENT HURT?
Most clients report a discomfort of level 3 on a a scale of 1 - 10. But everyone’s pain threshold is different. You will feel a scratching sensation at the beginning of your treatment while the first pass of marking the shape is being completed.
WILL YOU DRAW IN THE SHAPE FIRST?
Yes of course! The treatment will not start until you have agreed and are completely comfortable with the colour and shape selected.
HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?
This varies from person to person. Skin type, diet, genetics and environmental factors can all contribute to how long the pigments will be retained. If no subsequent top-ups are made, the colour will completely fade away within 12-18 months.
IS MY TOP-UP NECESSARY?
It is very important to top-up after 4-6 weeks of your first treatment, because while the area is healing, some parts may not hold as well as others and you may have a few patches that need more colour. This is completely normal and everyone heals differently. Occasionally a third visit is necessary for certain clients.
HOW LONG WILL THE PROCEDURE LAST?
It generally takes about 2-3 hours per treatment.
WHAT IS THE AFTER CARE FOR MY TREATMENT?
Eli will provide you with your aftercare kit and the instructions to follow according to your treatment.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MICROBLADING AND SEMI-PERMANENT MAKEUP?
SEMI PERMANENT MAKEUP
Requires the use of a machine to employ a pigment into the dermis. Pigment can totally fade within approx 12-18 months (some times more) always depending on your skin type, diet, genetics and medications. A range of different techniques can be done such as, hair-stroke, powder effect, block, combination or ombre. Sensation is often described similar to plucking or a pulling sensation. Also quite similar to rubbing a toothbrush over the skin. Topical anaesthetic can be used to aid comfort, and aftercare is required.
Requires the use of a manual tool to implant the pigments into the epidermal layer of the skin in order to create the most crisp and precise hair strokes. It can totally fade within approx 12-18 months if no top-up work is done. Again, this always depends on your skin type, diet, genetics and medications. There is a mild scratching sensation. A topical anaesthetic can be used to aid comfort, and aftercare is required.
